Extra Curricular Clubs
There are many activities at both lunchtimes and after school on offer at Teddington. Previously these have included clubs such as T-Shirt printing, cheerleading and self defence. We also have a number of regular clubs on offer such as:
The timetable is updated every term and if you wish to attend one of these clubs have a look at the timetable and ask the member of staff responsible. There is no formal registration process. Any student may attend and there is no obligation to attend every week.
Lunch time clubs generally run between 1.05pm and 1.30pm. After school clubs run from 3.30pm until 4.30pm or 5.00pm (check the timetables for specific times).
Where can I find the Clubs' Timetable?
Sports and Non-sport timetables are displayed in all form classrooms, on the school website and are sent out once a term via Parentmail.
Current Timetables
Please note: Breakfast Club will be starting after half term and The Babysitting course will be running later in the year for year 10 students.
Science Club
An opportunity for lower school pupils to get a chance to discover a range of scientific phenomena. Science teachers will be there to help you get a 'hands on' experience of the experiments. We have the excellent Mr Brown taking the club at the moment. The students who attend have been making some great Science based videos about the experiments they have been carrying out.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club runs every Friday morning from 8.00 - 8.30am in the Library during the Spring Term. It is an opportunity for students to complete homework, work on computers or read quietly. For attending this club, students are rewarded with a bacon sandwich and a hot drink from the restaurant.
War Hammer Games Club
This club is co-ordinated by Mr Murray from the English Department. This is an informal club after School for students interested in War Hammer Games and runs once a week throughout the academic year.
Art Club
This is an informal lunchtime club based in the art rooms. Students just turn up and can complete any art work they wish.
Singing Club
This club is run during lunchtimes in the Music Room. A very popular club, singing groups are split into year groups and each has an allotted time slot. Please see the timetable for details.
Our music practice rooms are also open every lunchtime, where students can play their own instruments. Please see Mr Cragg to book a room.
Karate Club
Every Monday after school: 3.30 to 5pm in the Activities Studio. Complete beginners always welcome. Please download the information.
British Red Cross Babysitting Course
This was a new club for 2011-12 and proved to be a great success. Thirty Year 10 students attended a course endorsed by the British Red Cross where they learnt the fundamental skills needed for being a competent babysitter. The students' details were then passed on to all the local Primary Schools, with the view to securing babysitting work.
The course is planned to run each academic year. However due to the high demand and age restrictions it will only be open to Year 10 students.
Vegetable Garden Club
After securing a grant from 'Richmond in Bloom' and 'Capital Growth' the school were able to build a fully functioning vegetable garden. Mainly during the summer month students attend the club once a week to help with planting, digging, watering and harvesting crops. The produce has been used by the restaurant to produce fresh meals and students are free to take home some of what they have grown. For further details please contact Ms Swamy from the Design Technology Department.
