Located in a beautiful position close to the banks of the Thames, Teddington School, purpose-built in 2010, is an educational building of outstanding quality and provides superior accommodation to meet the needs of learners in the twenty-first century.
In addition to the standard classroom accommodation, each curriculum area has access to learning 'break-out' spaces, state of the art I.T. provision and movable classroom walls: all allowing a wide range of teaching configurations and methods.
Practical subjects such as Art, Science, Design &Technology, P.E. & Performing Arts, and Media Studies are all provided with the most appropriate and flexible learning environments, allowing students to enjoy their studies to the full.
Our central performance space, with tiered retractable seating and an integrated sound and lighting system provides the perfect environment for school assemblies, major school productions and a variety of other events and activities. With the seating retracted and the walls in place it provides two high quality teaching spaces for drama and related activities.
The library sits at the heart of our open three storey building, providing a central focus on the educational purpose and learning intent of our building.
Externally, our students have access to a purpose-built outdoor 'social space' for use at breaks and lunchtimes, which can also be used for a range of outdoor teaching opportunities. The school has an outdoor ecological' classroom, two full-sized all-weather sports surfaces and regular use of the adjacent recreation ground.
The School’s outstanding fully integrated design, combined with its low energy, sustainable credentials has led to the building achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating.
