A key date in the School Calendar, the Annual Sports Awards Evening is a special occasion very much looked forward to by students, staff and parents alike.
We always aim to recognize effort and contribution as well as achievement and ability both within PE lessons and extra curricular activities. The achievements of students within Sport and Physical Education at Teddington School are excellent, with some exceptional performers.
Throughout the evening a number of students receive awards for both individual sports as well as for Effort and Achievement, Team of the Year and Sports Leadership. This year a new award has been introduced and this has been voted for by the students: Students' Sport Personality of the Year. The highlight of the evening is the Male and Female Sports Personality Award. Awarded to two students who have not only been successful in their sports, but who have made outstanding contributions to school sport.
At last year's event, London 2012 Silver Medallist Richard Hounslow was the guest of honour. He spoke about his experiences in the lead up to the London 2012 Games, and some of the highs and lows that were experienced. It was a truly inspirational talk. With nearly 450 students, parents and staff in the audience it was an extremely successful celebration of the successes this year. Congratulations to all the award winners.
This year's event will be held on Thursday 10th July at Teddington School.
