World Environment Day
The
aim of the Day is to encourage people to take responsibility
for their environment both globally and locally. Many visitors to Teddington School are shocked by the litter that disfigures the
buildings, gardens, astroturf and outside areas.
Most students consider themselves non-litter droppers and yet the
evidence suggests otherwise. We all have to take personal
responsibility for the litter we produce, disposing of it tidily in
the bins and recycling wherever possible.
Remember a cleaner school is up to you!
When the day first begins,
Only the leaves litter the ground,
No packets have yet been dropped,
But after eleven o'clock
The playground will change.
Insects scuttle to and fro,
Feasting on our waste,
Banana skins and apple cores,
Carelessly thrown to the once bare ground,
Now spattered with gum
Disgraceful and ugly.

Why should we have to stand,
In a pigsty each day?

As part of Teddington School's
contribution to Environment Day the School Council is organising the
collection and recycling of printer cartridges. If you have any used
cartridges at home please bring them into school and give them to
Mrs Bassett.
